Make an Appointment Clinic Phone: (843) 792-8209 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday thru Friday Step 1: Initial phone interview To make an appointment, new clients must first speak with the intake coordinator at the number above. The intake coordinator will go over a brief phone interview with you, which include basic contact, insurance, and background information questions, as well as a few brief questions about the crime or traumatic event you experienced and the most important problem(s) you are having as a result. You will not be asked for a detailed description of your trauma, or of your current symptoms. If the victim is a child under the age of 17, a parent or legal guardian will need to answer the intake questions on behalf of the child.
Step 2: Call back interview Within 48 hours (or two business days) of your initial call, a professional at the NCVC will review the information you provided in the intial phone interview and contact you to ask some additional questions. During this call, your first appointment will be scheduled. (However, if the client is a child, an appointment may be scheduled with the intake coordinator during his or her inital screening.) For referrals, your doctor's office must fax a referral sheet to our office (843-792-5041), and our intake coordinator will contact you to complete the screening.
Step 3: Your welcome letter and first appointment Some time after your intial appointment has been scheduled, you will receive a welcome packet in the mail that includes some information about our clinic and about other services offered to eligible crime victims. Please arrive for your first appointment at least 30 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork. For directions to our clinic, please see Contact Us.
Please note that our office does not provide crisis management. For information about local resources that provide crisis management services, see Resources for Public.
